Passion Center for Children is a nonprofit organization with a beautiful mission to rescue, redeem and restore orphaned children and their communities in Malawi Africa. Their work includes ministries serving children with special needs, widows, vulnerable infants, and implementing education and community-based initiatives such as a Community Health Network.
As we discussed the initial needs and concerns with a complete web redesign, the team shared that their main goal was to build a website that could drive more conversions and would better communicate their vision and work— as many of their supporters would not ever be able to see the work of their ministry firsthand.
This goal was the basis of building a new strategy for their website and social platforms.
The challenge of this project was twofold:
1) In addition to a web redesign, the organization's imagery, content, graphic standards, and communication style would also need to be addressed in order to build a cohesive strategy across all platforms
2) To address website traffic and user experience, a new CRM software that would allow supporters to easily donate to the ministry and sponsor children online would also need to be selected and implemented
I had the privilege of traveling to the organization's site many times and was immediately struck by the joy that radiated through the ministry and all of the incredible life-changing stories that were unfolding.
We knew that these moments needed to be captured with new brand images and videography that could be used to convey the ministry's vision and impact.
The previous website (Image 1a) placed the blog and latest stories at the forefront of the site, but with updated media, I wanted website visitors to immediately sense the joy and emotion, while still showcasing the different ministries.
While originally we landed on a beautiful photo for the homepage (Image 1b), I later presented the idea of using a short video loop to better capture these emotions.

While many of the ministry pages shared vital information about the ministry, in addition to updating the pages' style, each of them were reviewed for web traffic, readability, and to ensure there was strong imagery and clear CTAs.
Once all the new structure was in place, the site was built to include strong imagery and clear CTAs consistent with the main website.
